As a software developer, and primarily a game developer, I am continually amazed to think that opportunities are governed not by how hard I work but how hard I network.

My net worth is directly tied to the value of my network.

Employment, gigs, money, opportunities, access to cool technology, access to cool parties are all determined by how many people I talk to you. Your own net worth is the value of your own network.

You would think that someone would sit us down at the end of school and actually tell us this.
